A Board & Train is ideal for dogs who need focused, consistent training in a controlled setting. This program is particularly beneficial for:

Perfect for dogs who need to build or refine basic obedience skills like sit, stay, leash manners, recall, polite greetings, and impulse control.

Helps dogs who overreact to people, other dogs, or new environments develop confidence and appropriate responses.

Supports training for excessive barking, jumping up, counter surfing, demand behaviours, and overall impulse control.

Beneficial for nervous or insecure dogs who need support building their confidence in new environments or with new experiences. 

Custom-tailored programs available for advanced obedience, cooperative care, or specific behavioural goals.

We're very intentional about your dog's stay with us and want to be sure we match your dog with the correct activity program while with us in addition to the correct training plan.

Not only do we plan for their training success, we plan for their overall wellbeing by learning their comfort and confidence. 

If you're coming from afar, we schedule your dog's Meet & Greet and first day with us for the day you arrive. 

At a 30-minute Meet & Greet, we have two goals:

1. Assess your dog’s comfort away from you, with us, and in our environment. If your dog struggles with separation anxiety or is unable to be kenneled, we do not suggest a board & train environment for them.
2. Assess them for their correct activity program (social, confidence-building, or unsocial).

At the Meet & Greet:

• we take a video of the Meet & Greet and can walk you through any behaviours or communication cues we note that will inform our activity program recommendation for while your dog is with us for the Board & Train.
• we will recommend our Social, CLASS or Personal Play activity program

At the end of the  Meet & Greet:

• we book your dog's First Day in their activity program
• a trainer will follow up to discuss curriculum, board and train dates and private training session (if not already done so)

For guests travelling from a distance, we complete this on their first day with us.

During this day, we will:

• begin relationship building with your dog.
• confirm their activity program based on social interest and confidence

During each day, your dog will:

• participate in their activity program.
• have structured and supported rest time.
• have training sessions.

Each day you will receive:

• an email update providing details on your dog's activity and break times.

Every five days, you will receive:

• an email from the trainer with a video showing progress and what we've been working on.

Program support includes:

• go-home video
• private training session

Check-out day and time isn't always the most-conducive to a private training go-home session. Travel plans, time of day, and the length of stay can all factor into whether check-out day is the ideal day for that in-person private training session.

To ensure support for you and flexibility to schedule that important session at the most-conducive time, on check-out day we send you a hand-off video reviewing curriculum and progress and providing instruction, and we either complete the private training session on check-out day or on the day we scheduled when setting up your program.
