Vaccination Requirements

At The Happy Hound Play Park, your dog’s health and safety are top priorities. To create a safe and enjoyable environment for your dog and peace of mind for you, we require up-to-date vaccinations for Rabies and Distemper combination and we encourage the Bordetella vaccine and a flea and tick treatment.
Vaccines and preventive health measures help protect your dog from common contagious diseases, can bolster your dog’s immunity against viruses that can’t be vaccinated against, and can promote your dog’s best health while socializing with other dogs or being in new places.
By following these guidelines, we can minimize health risks and provide peace of mind for you and the best experience for your dog.

Puppies under 24 weeks old require two completed sets of Distemper combination vaccine.
Dogs over 24 weeks old require current Distemper combination vaccine (DAP/DH2P/DHPP) and Rabies vaccine.
Vaccines must be administered by a vet with official record provided by the vet.
Titer tests for Distemper combination are accepted for one year from test result showing immunity. Titer tests for Rabies are NOT accepted.

We recommend you wait at least two weeks after vaccination before bringing your dog to join us. This allows sufficient time for the vaccine to take effect, for your dog to develop immunity, and for them to feel like themselves again after any potential side effects.

We require a MINIMUM PERIOD of four days after a booster vaccine before your dog may join us for daycare or boarding, regardless of which vaccine is administered.
If you bring your dog in for daycare or boarding less than four days after a vaccination, to ensure your dog’s comfort, health and safety and the health of all dogs, your dog will need to be enrolled in our personal play daycare or boarding program until the required time has passed.
