Day Training takes place during your dog’s daycare day. Whether your dog is a young puppy learning foundational skills or an older dog working on confidence or manners, training is adapted to support their developmental needs and emotional readiness.
Day Training at The Happy Hound Play Park takes place while your dog is with us for daycare and is guided by our certified training team. Training sessions are integrated into your dog’s existing daycare day—Social, Confidence, or Personal Play—so learning happens when dogs are comfortable, regulated, and supported.
Puppies and adult dogs follow the same daily and training structure. What changes is the pacing, expectations, and complexity of the skills—not the quality or intention of the training.
Training is always designed to complement your dog’s full day, including appropriate activity, rest, and transitions.
Puppy Foundations is part of our Day Training program and supports both obedience skills and the environmental, social, and settling learning puppies need to thrive. Sessions are short, positive, and carefully paced to support development without overwhelm.
Puppy training commonly focuses on:
Obedience training is always matched to your puppy’s age, stamina, and learning readiness.

At all ages, Day Training supports obedience, emotional regulation, and real-world skill application. Sessions are customized based on your dog’s needs and learning readiness and may reinforce existing skills or introduce new challenges.
Common training focus areas include:

Training is most effective when it’s part of a dog’s whole day—not isolated from their environment, energy levels, or emotional state. Because Day Training is integrated into your dog’s daycare routine, skills are learned and practiced in real contexts, alongside appropriate activity and rest.
For you, this means:
This integrated approach supports lasting learning while making ongoing training easier to maintain alongside busy schedules.
Because training occurs within your dog’s daycare day, our trainers observe how learning carries over into social interactions, rest periods, and transitions. This allows us to adjust pacing, reinforce progress, and provide guidance that reflects your dog’s real-world behaviour—not just isolated training moments.
Day Training is a 12-day Program. Training intensity options available once your dog’s daycare pathway is established.
Day Training pricing is based on two components:
Your dog’s daycare pathway is guided through their Meet & Greet and first day of daycare. Once placement is confirmed, you may select the Day Training option that best fits your goals.

Most families begin with Essentials or Intermediate and adjust training intensity as goals and progress evolve.
Both Day Training and Puppy Foundations programs follow the same professional structure to ensure consistency, accountability, and clear communication throughout your dog’s progress.
Regardless of training intensity, every program includes:
Training intensity determines how many structured training sessions occur each day, while the overall program structure, communication, and accountability remain consistent across all options.
Many families choose Day Training because progress happens during care they already need—without adding additional training appointments to their week.
All dogs participating in Day Training begin with a Meet & Greet and a first day of daycare. This allows us to ensure your dog is comfortable in our environment and placed in the appropriate daycare pathway before training sessions are added.
Training is always an add-on to daycare and takes place during your dog’s scheduled daycare visit.
Day Training may be combined with other optional enhancements—such as additional enrichment, settle sessions, or photo moments—based on what will add genuine value to your dog’s day. Our team is happy to guide recommendations.
Your dog’s daycare placement and training recommendations are guided through a Meet & Greet and first day of daycare—so we can ensure the right structure, pacing, and support.

Training sessions are delivered one-on-one under guidance of a certified trainer, outside of group activity time. This allows for focused learning while still supporting your dog’s social, emotional, and rest needs through their daycare pathway.
The structure and delivery are the same. Puppy Day Training is for dogs under six months, with training goals, pacing, and expectations adapted to developmental stage. As dogs mature, Day Training may focus more heavily on obedience, behaviour, and real-world skill application. All training is individualized.
Training intensity is selected after your dog’s daycare placement is confirmed. Our team is happy to guide recommendations based on your dog’s needs, learning readiness, and goals. Many families begin with a lower intensity and adjust as progress and confidence build.
