Get started with A Board & Train Program
STEP 1: Meet & Greet
A Meet & Greet is a 30-minute pre-booked time where we assess your dog’s comfort away
from you, with us, and in our environment.
At the Meet & Greet:
- we take a video of the Meet & Greet and can walk you through any behaviours or communication cues we note that will inform our activity program recommendation for while your dog is with us for the Board & Train.
- we will recommend our Social, CLASS or Personal Play activity program.
At the end of the Meet & Greet:
- we will book your dog's First Day in their activity program in advance of the Board & Train program starting to ensure a board and train environment is ideal for your dog.
STEP 2: Pre-Board & Train Day
During this day, we will:
- begin relationship building with your dog.
- affirm the activity program we selected for them (Social, CLASS or Personal).
- assess your dog for any additional specific behaviours or learning we think they may benefit from in their Board & Train program.
At the end of this day, we will:
- review your dog’s first day and experience.
- provide you with a package of materials.
- book your curriculum consultation call with the trainer and discuss Board & Train dates.
You can also fill in the questionnaire in advance to provide us with additional details for the consult call.
STEP 3: Curriculum Consultation
During this consultation, the trainer will:
- discuss your desired curriculum for your dog’s program.
- book in your dog's days of Board & Train, if not already done so.
- schedule the final hand-off consultation for the final day.
STEP 4: Board & Train
During each day, your dog will:
- participate in their activity program.
- have structured and supported rest time.
- have training sessions.
Each day you will receive:
- an email update providing details on your dog's activity and break times.
Every five days, you will receive:
- an email from the trainer with a video showing progress and what we've been working on.
STEP 5: Board & Train Hand-off Session
On your dog’s final day, we will schedule the one-hour private one-on-one session with the trainer.
At the transition session, you will:
- meet with the trainer to debrief the program and receive hands-on learning
- discuss any next steps or support you might like
- schedule additional private sessions, if you wish

Our Board & Train programs begin with five days. Total length of program depends on your goals, budget and need and are priced per day after the initial five days.
Our Board & Train options match the activity program your dog is assessed for. We have social stay options and non-social stay options.

Required vaccinations
Puppies under 24 weeks old require:
- two completed sets of Distemper combination vaccine
Dogs over 24 weeks old require:
- three completed sets of Distemper combination vaccine
- Rabies vaccine
Suggested Vaccinations
- Bordetella
- Flea, tick and lice preventive treatment
Your dog does not need to be spayed or neutered. Female dogs in heat are not able to attend a board and train until 30 days from the beginning of their heat cycle.
Yes, absolutely! We encourage the people who will be working with your dog day-to-day to be present.
A Board & Train begins with five days. You can book any number of days after the initial five days at the per-day board and train rate.
We follow and teach science-based positive reinforcement practices and methodologies.
Cancellation policy
If cancelled more than seven days in advance of the Board & Train program start date, the deposit less 3% admin fee and 3% credit card processing fee can be refunded. If cancelled less than seven days in advance of the start date, the deposit less 3% admin fee is transferrable to a service credit to be used within the next 90 days. If cancelled less than 24 hours in advance of the start date, the deposit is non-refundable or transferrable. Holiday boarding policies apply during holiday seasons.
