A Meet & Greet Appointment lets you meet us, lets your dog meet us, and gives us a basic insight into your dog's comfort and confidence with us, comfort away from you, comfort in a new place, and social comfort with others.
We assess each dog using the Social Measures of Success criteria to assess each dog's communication with others, social interest, comfort and confidence with us, in our environment and with others, and where they fall in their play style and development.
A Meet & Greet is $20 plus gst.
Your dog only needs to complete one meet & greet to begin either daycare or boarding.
If, at any point, your dog indicates they're overwhelmed or uncomfortable, we listen to what your dog is communicating and don't compel them into a situation they're uncomfortable with.
If we have anything we want to debrief with you, we can show you and walk you through the behaviours we're observing, so you can first-hand see and understand why we're making a specific daycare recommendation.
We will recommend Social Daycare, Confidence Learning & Social Skills daycare or Personal Play daycare based on the Meet & Greet assessment.
We assess a dog’s ability to communicate, which is both their comprehension of the verbal and non-verbal indicators of other dogs and their ability to clearly and respectfully signal both verbally and non-verbally to others.
We want to ensure that a daycare program adds value, and being comfortable with the new means they’re confident enough to get value from and growth within a social program.
We observe a dog’s interest in others and receptivity to other dogs’ engagement and overtures. Not at all dogs need to love to play with others or be the life of the party, but we want to ensure your dog’s success and comfort with us, and social interest means being engaged with others in the way they’re comfortable with, which provides value and enrichment to their day.
We evaluate each dog’s learned play behaviours and assess where on the spectrum they may be for social maturity and experience. Dogs learn from their environment and from available play partners, and it’s important for us to know and understand where they are currently in their play style and development so we can best support their development and understand their needs.

All dogs who will be attending daycare or boarding must complete a Meet & Greet.
We conduct Meet & Greets seven days a week. If you book an assessment on a morning and your dog passes into one of our programs, you may enroll your dog in daycare for that same day.
First, we want you to meet us, see our place, and interview us to ensure we meet your expectations.
Second, we want to get to know your dog and how they respond to others and to being with us in our space.
Third, we want you to fully understand our programs, our mission and our values and how the work we do with your dog while with us is intended to support your overall goals for your dog.
If your dog is human reactive, please give us a call to schedule a Training Meet & Greet. 587-787-3713 ext. 3
If you know your dog is dog reactive to other dogs and would like to enrol your dog in our personal play daycare program, we still have you start with a meet & greet.
This allows us to meet your dog and get an idea of their comfort and confidence with us and in our environment. It also gives us an idea of their comfort with resting when not in activity time, which is essential for all our guests.
If your dog is human reactive, exceptionally fearful to the point they shut down or has such significant separation anxiety or confinement anxiety they compromise their own mental health or physical safety.
